Yesterday Claire, Taylor, Looney, Christine, Arthur and myself went to the Buzz Beach Ball in Kansas City! We were there from 3 to 10:30. It was pretty hot at first, but the awesomeness of the event was worth it, we saw:
- The Antlers
- Kimbra
- The Dirty Heads
- The Kooks
- Metric
- Flogging Molly
- The Shins
- Foster the People
It was so awesome! Foster the People and Metric were by far my favorite, but I can’t say I was disappointed by any of the acts.
Taylor and I also got to meet the bassist of Flogging Molly! He was pretty friendly, and pretty drunk, but it was sweet that he was just out in the crowd talking to people.
We stayed the night in Independence, MO at another teams house and headed on back to Topeka earlier today. I got swindled into driving, meh. But it wasn’t too bad.
Today was a lazy day, seeing as how I took a nap and watched Animal Planet. Then we played hide and seek as a team, pretty fun! Then I did insanity and now about to go to bed.
OH AND DID I MENTION MY BROTHER GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL TODAY?! I am so sad that I missed it, but I am so extremely proud of him. Not everyone does it, and it speaks so loudly that my parents and he really pushed to make this day happen. I’m so grateful for all the teachers, staff, and great students who helped make his time at Harrison fly by. I’m nervous for what his future holds, but I know he’s excited to be a working man! <3
Give someone a dollar if they come visit me. No joke, one real, nice, crisp dolla. Do it.
Today was a great Memorial Day! Christine, Looney, Claire, and I spent all day at the pool! Yeah, I’m a little sunburn but it was worth it. The pool had so many different slides and diving boards. It was a nice pool.
Then, we went to the mall for a wee bit. Clothes, ugh they make me feel bad. But hey, there’s motivation!
Now its dinner time: mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, and veggies. Yum!
This weekend has been a lazy one. Yesterday entailed going to the local Art Museum for a while. It was a really neat exhibit and I enjoyed going. In the basement was a whole big floor of different art crafts to do and take home. Oh yeah, and it was all for free! Then, for the rest of the afternoon I did nothing but keep our lush, green couch company. We bounded over many an hour of tv watching. Finally, I left my love to go get ice cream with some teammates in the evening. Fatties? Yes, and loving it.
Today was a lot of the same, well laying around wise. We went to the zoo for a couple of hours, which was awesome because I love animals, duh! I also went on a 2mile run today, but otherwise sat around.
Now one of my teammates is singing around the kitchen, and I find it rather entertaining. But trying to keep my lips from cracking a laugh.
Tonight I went out with my relatives who live in Kansas, Chris, Claire, and Todd. We went to a great little place called Annie’s Place. We talked about many things and it was a lovely evening.
Chris might let us see how she makes fish lures, and Claire has invited my team to Kansas City!
SuperCuts. The jerks.
- Haircut: 12.50
- Shampoo: 5.00
- Bangs: 10.00
- Dried: 10-20
What kind of bullshit is that? Just spend the extra few bucks to get everything at a nice place. Granted, the lady who cut my hair was very nice, but this doesn’t make it any less annoying.
Today was stressing. I helped Smid with some sanding this morning, and then the rest of my day was dedicated to planning a handicap ramp.
I love that I have complete rein on it, but its a little daunting. Blueprints, materials, does it meet code, does it interfere with the ditch, how do we make the ground stable, ect.!
Not too mention Christine and myself have to make enough content to fill an entire website. Blah! Excite and stress is my life at the moment.
Your favorite thing to do outside!
